Advanced Front Airbag Features

TheAdvancedFrontAirbagsystemhasmultistagedriver
andfrontpassengerairbags.Thissystemprovidesoutput
appropriate to the severity and type of collision as
determinedbytheOccupantRestraintController(ORC),
whichmayreceiveinformationfromtheimpactsensors
atthefrontofthecar.
• airbagNo objectsontheshouldinstrumentbe placedpanel,overbecauseor anynearsuchthe
objectscouldcauseharmifthevehicleisinacrash
severeenoughtocausetheairbagtoinflate.
Do not put anything on or around the airbag
coversorattempttoopenthemmanually.Youmay
damage the airbags and you could be injured
becausetheairbagsmaynolongerbefunctional.
The protective covers for the airbag cushions are
designedtoopenonlywhentheairbagsareinflat-
ing.

impact that requires airbag deployment. The timing of
thesecondstagedetermineswhethertheoutputforceis
low,medium,orhigh.Ifalowoutputissufficienttomeet
theneed,theremaininggasintheinflatorisexpended.
