precautions,suchasslowerspeedsandincreasedstopping

distance,shouldbetakenwhendrivingaheavilyloadedvehicle.

AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE OPERATION (IF EQUIPPED)

Brake-shift interlock

Thisvehicleisequippedwithabrake-shiftinterlockfeaturethatprevents

thegearshiftleverfrombeingmovedfromP(Park)unlessthebrake

pedalisdepressed.

NOTE:IfthegearshiftlevercannotbemovedfromP(Park)withthe

brakepedaldepressed,itispossiblethatafusehasblownorthe

vehicle’sbrakelampsarenotoperatingproperly.RefertoFusesand

relaysintheRoadsideemergencieschapter.

WARNING: Donotdriveyourvehicleuntilyouverifythatthe

brakelampsareworking.Arearendcolissionmayresultafter

youbrake.

Ifyourvehiclegetsstuckinmudorsnowitmayberockedoutby

shiftingbetweenforwardandreversegears,stoppingbetweenshifts,ina

steadypattern.Presslightlyontheacceleratorineachgear.
