Thesetemporarymalfunctionscanbecorrectedbyfillingthefueltank
withhighqualityfueloftherecommendedoctaneand/orproperly
installingandsecurelytighteningthefuelcap.Afterthreedrivingcycles
withouttheseoranyothertemporarymalfunctionspresent,the
lightshouldturnoff.(Adrivingcycleconsistsofacoldenginestartup
followedbymixedcity/highwaydriving.)Noadditionalvehicleserviceis
required.
Ifthe
lightremainson,haveyourvehicleservicedatthefirst
availableopportunity.
NOTE:The
lightwillilluminateifvehiclerefuelingisconducted
withtheenginerunning.
WARNING: Neverrefuelvehiclewiththeenginerunning.
Lightisblinking:
Enginemisfireisoccurringwhichcoulddamageyourcatalyticconverter.
Youshoulddriveinamoderatefashion(avoidheavyaccelerationand
deceleration)andhaveyourvehicleservicedatthefirstavailable
opportunity.
WARNING: Underenginemisfireconditions,excessiveexhaust
temperaturescoulddamagethecatalyticconverter,thefuel
system,interiorfloorcoveringsorothervehiclecomponents,
possiblycausingafire.
Low fuel
Illuminatesasanearlyreminderofa
lowfuelconditionindicatedonthe
fuelgauge(refertoFuelgaugein
thischapterformoreinformation).
Whenrefueling,afterthelight
comeson,theamountoffuelthatcanbeaddedwillbelessthanthe
advertisedcapacityduetothereservefuel.Theignitionmustbeinthe
RUNpositionforthislamptoilluminate.Thelampwillalsoilluminatefor
severalsecondsaftertheignitionisturnedtotheONpositionregardless
ofthefuelleveltoensureyourbulbisworking.
