Recreational towing
Anexampleof“recreationaltowing”istowingyourvehiclebehinda
motorhome.
Ifyourvehicleisautomatictransmissionequipped,witha4x2
(front-wheeldriveonly)configuredpowertrain,“recreationaltowing”is
permittedbytraileringthevehiclewithitsfrontwheelsonadolly.This
protectsthetransmission’sinternalmechanicalcomponentsfrom
potentiallackoflubricationdamage.
Ifyourvehicleisautomatictransmissionequipped,witha4x4(all-wheel
drive)configuredpowertrain,“recreationaltowing”ispermittedonlyif
thevehicleistraileredwithallfour(4)wheelsofftheground.Otherwise,
no“recreationaltowing”ispermitted.
Ifyourvehicleismanualtransmissionequipped,shiftingthetransmission
intoneutralpermits“flat-towing”(allwheelsontheground)forpulling
behindamotorhome.Yourvehiclemaybetoweduptoaspeedof
120
km/h(75mph)butyoushouldalwaysobeylocalspeedlimits.
Forothertowingrequirements,refertoWreckerTowinginthe
Roadsideemergencieschapter.
LUGGAGE RACK
Yourvehicleisequippedwitharoofrack.Themaximumloadfortheroof
rackis44kg(100lbs),evenlydistributedonthecrossbars.Ifitisnot
possibletoevenlydistributetheload,positionitinthecenterorasfar
forwardonthecrossbarsaspossible.Alwaysusetheadjustabletiedown
loopstosecuretheload.
Toadjustthecross-barposition:

Loosenthethumbwheelatboth
endsofthecross-bar(both
cross-barsareadjustable).

desiredlocation.
Tightenthethumbwheelatboth
endsofthecross-bar.
