placinghandsonthemisextremelydangerous.Asideairbag

inflateswithgreatforceandspeeddirectlyoutoftheoutboard

shoulderofthefrontseatandexpandsalongthefrontdooron

thesidethecarishit.Seriousinjurycouldoccurifsomeoneis

sittingtooclosetothedoororleaningagainstawindowinthe

frontseatsorifrearseatoccupantsgrabthesidesofthefront

seatbacks.Furthermore,sleepingupagainstthedooror

hangingoutthedriver’s-sidewindowwhiledrivingcouldblock

thesideairbagandeliminatetheadvantagesofsupplemental

protection.Givethesideairbagsroomtoworkbysittinginthe

centeroftheseatwhilethevehicleismovingwithseatbelts

wornproperly.

WARNING: ModificationoftheSupplementalRestraintSystem

Modifyingthecomponentsorwiringofthesupplemental

restraintsystemisdangerous.Youcouldaccidentallyactivateit

ormakeitinoperable.Don’tmakeanymodificationstothe

supplementalrestraintsystem.Thisincludesinstallingtrim,

badges,oranythingelseovertheairbagstorageareas.Italso

includesinstallingextraelectricequipmentonornearsystem

componentsorwiring.

AnAuthorizedMazdaDealercanprovidethespecialcare

neededintheremovalandinstallationoffrontseats.Itis

importanttoprotectthesideairbagwiringandconnectionsto

assurethatthebagsdonotaccidentlydeployandthattheseats

retainanundamagedairbagconnection.

WARNING: Donotattempttoservice,repair,ormodifytheair

bagSupplementalRestraintSystem,itsfusesortheseatcover

onaseatcontaininganairbag.SeeyourauthorizedMazda

dealer.

WARNING: Alloccupantsofthevehicleincludingthedriver

shouldalwaysweartheirsafetybeltsevenwhenanairbagSRS

isprovided.
