approach and departure angles (off-road) and
is also recommended for wading.
Access mode
Approximately2.5 in (65 mm)
below ’Standard’, enabling easier
access or loading. ’Access’can be selected
with the engine running and for up to 40
seconds after it has been switched off

km/h). If this speed is exceeded EAS
automaticallyreturns to ’Standard’.

NOTE: The air suspension warning light
illuminates when this height is selected.
The parking brake is applied and gear
selector moved to position ’P’.

The foot brake is NOTapplied.
High ride height must not be selected for
driving on the public highway. Selection of
high ride height raises the vehicle centre of
gravity, which on the highway will decrease
handling performance and increase the risk
of the vehicle rolling over.
’Access’can also be preselected up to 40
seconds before the vehicle stops. However,
the suspension will not begin to lower until
the vehicle is stationarywith the parking brake
applied, the gear selector in the ’P’(park)
position and the foot brake released.
Preselection is automaticallycancelled if the
40 second period is exceeded.
Standard ride height
Suitable for most driving
conditions and recommended for
towing (see ’Towing with EAS’).
NOTE: If a door/tailgate is opened or the foot
brake is applied whilst the vehicle is changing
height, the change will be interrupted.
Low ride height
Approximately1 in (25 mm)
below ’Standard’ . Selected
automaticallywhen speeds of over 50 mph
(80
km/h) are sustained for over 30 seconds.
This setting lowers the vehicle’s centre of
gravity, therebyimproving the handling
characteristics of the vehicle. The vehicle
automaticallyreturns to ’Standard’if speeds
below 35 mph (50 km/h) are sustained for
over 30 seconds. ’Low’can be manually
selected at any speed when Inhibit mode has
been selected.
