BRAKEFLUIDCHECK
The fluid levelwill fall slightlyduring use, as a
result of brake pad wear, but should not be
allowed to fall below the ’MIN’mark. Any
substantial drop in fluid indicates a leakin the
system, in which case the vehicle must NOT
be driven and you should contact your retailer.
With the vehicle on levelground, checkthe
fluid levelat least everyweek (more frequently
in high mileage or arduous operating
conditions) as follows:
1.
Turn the starter switch to position ’II’to
activate the pump (brake warning light
illuminates).
WARNING
Take care not to spill fluid onto a hot engine
2.
3.
If the pump cannot be heard to operate,
press the brake pedal severaltimes.
-
a fire may result.
Brake fluid is highly toxic and could be fatal
if swallowed - keep containers out of the
reach of children. If consumption of fluid is
suspected, seek medical attention
immediately.
Wait until the pump has stopped operating
and the warning light has extinguished
before checking the fluid level.
If fluid should come into contact with the
skin or eyes, rinse immediately with plenty
of fresh water.
CAUTION
Contact your retailer immediately if brake
pedal travel is unusually long or if there is
any appreciable drop in brake fluid level.
Brake fluid will damage painted surfaces;
soak up any spillage with an absorbant cloth
immediately and wash the area with a
mixture of car shampoo and water.
