Seating and Safety Restraints
CrewCabbasebenchseatsandallRegularCabseatingpositions,the
safetybeltsareequippedwitharetractorpretensioner.
Thedriverandfrontoutboardpassengersafetybeltpretensionersare
designedtoactivateonlyduringcertainfrontalornear-frontalcollisions
withsufficientlongitudinaldeceleration.Asafetybeltpretensionerisa
devicewhichtightensthewebbingofthelapandshoulderbeltsduring
somecollisionsinsuchawaythattheyfitmoresnuglyagainstthebody.
Thedriverandfrontoutboardpassengersafetybeltsystem(including
retractors,bucklesandheightadjusters)mustbereplacedifthevehicle
isinvolvedinacollisionthatresultsintheactivationofthesafetybelt
pretensioners.RefertotheSafetybeltmaintenancesectioninthis
chapter.
Failuretoreplacethesafetybeltassemblyundertheabove
conditionscouldresultinseverepersonalinjuriesintheeventof
acollision.
Front safety belt height adjustment (if equipped)
Ifyourshoulderbeltscomeoutofthefrontseatback,youwillnothave
asafetybeltheightadjuster.
RegularCabandSuperCabvehicleshavesafetybeltheightadjustments
forthedriverandfrontpassenger.SuperCrewvehicleshavethese
adjustmentsforthedriver,frontpassengerandrearoutboard
passengers.Adjusttheheightoftheshoulderbeltsothebeltrests
acrossthemiddleofyourshoulder.
