exhaustfumes.
Important ventilating information
Iftheengineisidlingwhilethevehicleisstoppedforalongperiodof
time,openthewindowsatleast2.5cm(oneinch)oradjusttheheating
orairconditioningtobringinfreshair.
BRAKES
Occasionalbrakenoiseisnormal.Ifametal-to-metal,continuousgrinding
orcontinuoussquealsoundispresent,thebrakeliningsmaybeworn-out
andshouldbeinspectedbyaqualifiedservicetechnician.Ifthevehicle
hascontinuousvibrationorshudderinthesteeringwheelwhilebraking,
thevehicleshouldbeinspectedbyaqualifiedservicetechnician.
Four-wheel anti-lock brake system (ABS)
YourvehicleisequippedwithanAnti-lockBrakingSystem(ABS).This
systemhelpsyoumaintainsteeringcontrolduringemergencystopsby
keepingthebrakesfromlocking.NoisefromtheABSpumpmotorand
brakepedalpulsationmaybeobservedduringABSbraking;any
pulsationsormechanicalnoiseyoumayfeelorhearisnormal.
UsingABS
Whenhardbrakingisrequired,applycontinuousforceonthebrake
pedal;donotpumpthebrakepedalsincethiswillreducethe
effectivenessoftheABSandwillincreaseyourvehicle’ sstopping
distance.TheABSwillbeactivatedimmediately,allowingyoutoretain
fullsteeringcontrolduringhardbrakingandonslipperysurfaces.
However,theABSdoesnotdecreasestoppingdistance.

ABS
The
lampintheinstrumentclustermomentarilyilluminateswhen
ABS
theignitionisturnedtoON.Ifthelightdoesnotilluminateduringstart
up,remainsonorflashes,theABSmaybedisabledandmayneedtobe
serviced.
