MotorcraftPremiumGoldEngineCoolantyellow-colored):For
vehiclesequippedwiththiscoolant,doNOTuserecycledengine
coolantsinceaFordMotorCompanyapprovedrecyclingprocessis
notyetavailable.
Followyourcommunity’sregulationsandstandardsfordisposing
andrecyclingofautomotivefluids.
Coolant refill capacity
Tofindouthowmuchfluidyourvehicle’scoolingsystemcanhold,refer
toRefillcapacitiesinthischapter.
FillyourenginecoolantreservoirasoutlinedinAddingenginecoolant
inthischapter.
Severe climates
Ifyoudriveinextremelycoldclimates(lessthan–36°C[–34°F]):
•
Itmaybenecessarytoincreasethecoolantconcentration
above50%.
•

NEVERincreasethecoolantconcentrationabove60%.
Increasedenginecoolantconcentrationsabove60%will
decreasetheoverheatprotectioncharacteristicsoftheengine
coolantandmaycauseenginedamage.

Refertothechartonthecoolantcontainertoensurethe
coolantconcentrationinyourvehiclewillprovideadequate
freezeprotectionatthetemperaturesinwhichyoudriveinthe
wintermonths.
Ifyoudriveinextremelyhotclimates:

Itisstillnecessarytomaintainthecoolantconcentration
above40%.
•

NEVERdecreasethecoolantconcentrationbelow40%.
Decreasedenginecoolantconcentrationsbelow40%will
decreasethecorrosionprotectioncharacteristicsoftheengine
coolantandmaycauseenginedamage.
