Positions of the ignition

operatewhiletheengineisnot
running.

LOCK,locksthesteeringwheel,

automatictransmissiongearshift
leverandallowskeyremoval.For
vehicleequippedwithamanual
transmission,youmustdepressthe
ignitionreleaselevertoreleasethe
key.

OFF,shutsofftheengineandallaccessorieswithoutlockingthe
steeringwheel.Thispositionalsoallowstheautomatictransmissionshift
levertobemovedfromtheP(Park)positionwithoutthebrakepedal
beingdepressed.
WhenthekeyisintheignitionOFFposition,theautomatic
transmissionshiftlevercanbemovedfromtheP(Park)position
withoutthebrakepedaldepressed.Toavoidunwantedvehicle
movement,alwayssettheparkingbrake.
4.
ON,allelectricalcircuitsoperational.Warninglightsilluminated.Key
positionwhendriving.
5.
START,crankstheengine.Releasethekeyassoonastheengine
starts.

systemmeetsallCanadianInterference-CausingEquipmentstandard
requirementsregulatingtheimpulseelectricalfieldstrengthofradio
noise.
Whenstartingafuel-injectedengine,dontpresstheacceleratorbefore
orduringstarting.Onlyusetheacceleratorwhenyouhavedifficulty
