TheSRSusesareadinesslightintheinstrumentclusteroratoneto
indicatetheconditionofthesystem.RefertoAirbagreadinesssection
intheInstrumentClusterchapter.Routinemaintenanceoftheairbagis
notrequired.
Adifficultywiththesystemisindicatedbyoneormoreofthefollowing:

Thereadinesslightwilleither
flashorstaylit.
Thereadinesslightwillnot
illuminateimmediatelyafter
ignitionisturnedon.

Aseriesoffivebeepswillbeheard.Thetonepatternwillrepeat
periodicallyuntiltheproblemand/orlightarerepaired.
Ifanyofthesethingshappen,evenintermittently,havetheSRSserviced
atanauthorizeddealerimmediately.Unlessserviced,thesystemmaynot
functionproperlyintheeventofacollision.
Seat-mounted side airbag system
Donotplaceobjectsormountequipmentonorneartheairbag
coveronthesideoftheseatbacksofthefrontseatsorinfront
seatareasthatmaycomeintocontactwithadeployingairbag.Failure
tofollowtheseinstructionsmayincreasetheriskofpersonalinjuryin
theeventofacollision.
Donotuseaccessoryseatcovers.Theuseofaccessoryseat
coversmaypreventthedeploymentofthesideairbagsand
increasetheriskofinjuryinanaccident.
Donotleanyourheadonthedoor.Thesideairbagcouldinjure
youasitdeploysfromthesideoftheseatback.
