Ifyourvehiclegetsstuckinmudorsnow,itmayberockedoutby
shiftingbetweenforwardandreversegears,stoppingbetweenshiftsina
steadypattern.Presslightlyontheacceleratorineachgear.
Donotrockthevehicleiftheengineisnotatnormaloperating
temperatureordamagetothetransmissionmayoccur.
Donotrockthevehicleformorethanaminuteordamagetothe
transmissionandtiresmayoccur,ortheenginemayoverheat.
REVERSE SENSING SYSTEM (IF EQUIPPED)
TheReverseSensingSystem(RSS)soundsatonetowarnthedriverof
obstaclesneartherearbumperwhentheR(Reverse)isselectedandthe
vehicleismovingatspeedslessthan3mph(5km/h).Thesystemisnot
effectiveatspeedsabove3mph(5km/h)andmaynotdetectcertain
angularormovingobjects.
Tohelpavoidpersonalinjury,pleasereadandunderstandthe
limitationsofthereversesensingsystemascontainedinthis
section.Reversesensingisonlyanaidforsome(generallylargeand
fixed)objectswhenmovinginreverseonaflatsurfaceat“parking
speeds”.InclementweathermayalsoaffectthefunctionoftheRSS;
thismayincludereducedperformanceorafalseactivation.
Tohelpavoidpersonalinjury,alwaysusecautionwheninR
(Reverse)andwhenusingtheRSS.
Thissystemisnotdesignedtopreventcontactwithsmallor
movingobjects.Thesystemisdesignedtoprovideawarningto
assistthedriverindetectinglargestationaryobjectstoavoiddamaging
thevehicle.Thesystemmaynotdetectsmallerobjects,particularly
thoseclosetotheground.
