Pregnantwomenshouldalwayswearseatbelts.Askyourdoctorforspecific
recommendations.
ThelapbeltshouldbewornSNUGLYANDASLOWASPOSSIBLEOVERTHEHIPS.
Theshoulderbeltshouldbewornacrossyourshoulderproperly,butneveracrossthe
stomacharea.
Personswithseriousmedicalconditionsalsoshouldwearseatbelts.Checkwithyour
doctorforanyspecialinstructionsregardingspecificmedicalconditions.
qEmergencyLockingMode
Intheemergencylockingmode,thebeltremainscomfortableontheoccupantandthe
retractorwilllockinpositionduringacollision.Whentheseatbeltisfastened,itwill
alwaysbeintheemergencylockingmodeuntilitisswitchedtoautomaticlockingmodeby
pullingitallthewayouttoitsfulllength.Ifthebeltfeelstightandhinderscomfortable
movementwhilethevehicleisstoppedorinmotion,itmaybeintheautomaticlocking
modebecausethebelthasbeenpulledtoofarout.Toreturntothebelttothemore
comfortableemergencylockingmode,waituntilthevehiclehasstoppedinasafe,level
area,retractthebeltfullytoconvertitbacktoemergencylockingmodeandthenextendit
aroundyouagain.
qAutomaticLockingMode
Alwaysusetheautomaticlockingmodetokeepthechild-restraintsystemfromshiftingto
anunsafepositionintheeventofanaccident.Toenableseatbeltautomaticlockingmode,
pullitallthewayoutandconnectitasinstructedonthechild-restraintsystem.Itwill
retractdowntothechild-restraintsystemandstaylockedonit.Seethesectiononchild
restraint(page2-19).
