dangerous.Thesideairbagsinflatewithgreatforceandspeeddirectlyoutofthe
outboardsideofthefrontseatandexpandalongthefrontdooronthesidethecaris
hit.Seriousinjurycouldoccurifsomeoneissittingtooclosetothedoororleaning
againstawindow,orifrearseatoccupantsgrabthesidesofthefrontseatbacks.
Furthermore,sleepingupagainstthedoororhangingoutthewindowsinthevehicle
couldblockthesideandcurtainairbagsandeliminatetheadvantagesof
supplementalprotection.Givethesideandcurtainairbagsroomtoworkbysittingin
thecenteroftheseatwhilethevehicleismovingwithseatbeltswornproperly.
Donotattachobjectsonoraroundtheareawheredriverandfrontpassengerairbags
deploy:
Attachinganobjecttothedriverandfrontpassengerairbagmodulesorplacing
somethinginfrontofthemisdangerous.Inanaccident,anobjectcouldinterferewith
airbaginflationandinjuretheoccupants.
Donotattachobjectsonoraroundtheareawhereasideairbagdeploys:
Attachingthingstothefrontseatinsuchawayastocovertheoutboardsideofthe
seatinanywayisdangerous.Inanaccidenttheobjectcouldinterferewiththesideair
bag,whichinflatesfromtheoutboardsideofthefrontseats,impedingtheadded
protectionofthesideairbagsystemorredirectingtheairbaginawaythatis
dangerous.Furthermore,thebagcouldbecutopenreleasingthegas.
Donothangnetbags,mappouchesorbackpackswithsidestrapsonthefrontseats.
Neveruseseatcoversonthefrontseats.Alwayskeepthesideairbagmodulesinyour
frontseatsfreetodeployintheeventofasidecollision.
Donotattachobjectsonoraroundtheareawhereacurtainairbagdeploys:
Attachingobjectstotheareaswherethecurtainairbagactivatessuchasonthe
windshieldglass,sidedoorglass,frontandrearwindowpillarsandalongtheroof
edgeandassistgripsisdangerous.Inanaccidenttheobjectcouldinterferewiththe
curtainairbag,whichinflatesfromthefrontandrearwindowpillarsandalongthe
roofedge,impedingtheaddedprotectionofthecurtainairbagsystemorredirecting
theairbaginawaythatisdangerous.Furthermore,thebagcouldbecutopen
releasingthegas.
Donotplacehangersoranyotherobjectsontheassistgrips.Whenhangingclothes,
hangthemonthecoathookdirectly.Alwayskeepthecurtainairbagmodulesfreeto
deployintheeventofasidecollision.
