checkforkinksortwists.Thenmakesure
itremainsuntwistedasitretracts.
Foroptimumprotection,thedriverand
frontpassengerseatbeltsareequipped
withpretensionerandloadlimiting
systems.Forboththesesystemstowork
properlyyoumustweartheseatbelt
properly.
Pretensioners:
Inmoderateorseverefrontalornear-
frontalaccidents,thefrontairbagand
pretensionersystemsdeploy
simultaneouslywhentheseatbeltisworn.
Ifthefrontseatoccupantisnotwearinga
seatbelt,thatperson'spretensionerwill
notfireeveniftheairbagdoes.Thefront
seatbeltretractorsremoveslackquickly
astheairbagsareexpanding.
Inaddition,thepretensionersystemfor
thefrontpassenger,likethefront
passengerairbag,isdesignedtoonly
deployinaccordancewiththetotalseated
weightonthefrontpassengerseat.Any
timetheairbagsandseatbelt

Ifabeltdoesnotfullyretract,inspectit
forkinksandtwists.Ifitisstillnot
retractingproperly,haveitinspectedat
anAuthorizedMazdaDealer.

Loadlimiter:
Theloadlimitingsystemreleasesbelt
webbinginacontrolledmannertoreduce
beltforceontheoccupant'schest.While
themostsevereloadonaseatbeltoccurs
infrontalcollisions,theloadlimiterhas
anautomaticmechanicalfunctionandcan
activateinanyaccidentmodewith
sufficientoccupantmovement.
Evenifthepretensionershavenotfired,
theloadlimitingfunctionmustbe
checkedbyanAuthorizedMazdaDealer.
