Thisisthenormalrunningpositionafter
theengineisstarted.Thewarninglights
(exceptbrakes)shouldbeinspected
beforetheengineisstarted(page5-39).
Theadvancedkeymustbecarried
becausetheadvancedkeycarriesan
immobilizerchipthatmust
communicatewiththeengine
controlsatshortrange.

Whenstartingtheengine,besurethe
startknobissecurelyattachedbefore
tryingtooperateit.Iftheknob
becomesdetachedfromtheignition
switch,re-attachitbypushingiton
totheignitionswitch.

Whentheignitionswitchisturnedto
theONposition,thesoundofthefuel
pumpmotoroperatingnearthefuel
tankcanbeheard.Thisdoesnot
indicateanabnormality.

Theengineisstartedinthisposition.It
willcrankuntilyoureleasethestartknob;
thenitreturnstotheONposition.The
brakewarninglightcanbecheckedafter
theengineisstarted(page5-39).
