atraileranddoingsowillaffectthedrivesystemwhichcouldresultinvehicle

Thissectionwillguideyouintheproperloadingofyourvehicleand/ortrailer,tokeep
yourloadedvehicleweightwithinitsdesignratingcapability,withorwithoutatrailer.
Properlyloadingyourvehiclewillprovidemaximumreturnofvehicledesignperformance.
Beforeloadingyourvehicle,familiarizeyourselfwiththefollowingtermsfordetermining
yourvehicle'sweightratings,withorwithoutatrailer,fromthevehicle'sSafety
CertificationLabelandTireandLoadInformationLabel:

OverloadedVehicle:
Overloadingavehicleisdangerous.Theresultsofoverloadingcanhaveserious
consequencesintermsofpassengersafety.Toomuchweightonavehicle'ssuspension
systemcancausespringorshockabsorberfailure,brakefailure,handlingorsteering
problems,irregulartirewear,tirefailureorotherdamage.
Overloadingmakesavehiclehardertodriveandcontrol.Italsoincreasesthedistance
requiredforstopping.Incasesofseriousoverloading,brakescanfailcompletely,
particularlyonsteepgrades.Theloadatirewillcarrysafelyisacombinationofthe
sizeofthetire,itsloadrange,andcorrespondinginflationpressure.
Neveroverloadthevehicleandalwaysobservethevehicle'sweightratingsfromthe
vehicle'sSafetyCertificationandTireandLoadInformationlabels.
