Whateverchild-restraintsystemyouconsider,pleasepicktheappropriateonefortheage
andsizeofthechild,obeythelawandfollowtheinstructionsthatcomewiththeindividual
child-restraintsystem.
Achildwhohasoutgrownchild-restraintsystemsshoulduseseatbelts,bothlapand
shoulder.Iftheshoulderbeltcrossestheneckorface,movethechildclosertothecenterof
thevehicle.
Arear-facingchild-restraintsystemshouldNEVERbeusedonthepassengerseatwiththe
airbagsystemactivated.
Ifasmallchildorinfantinthepassengerseat―particularlyachildsecuredinarear-
facingchild-restraintsystem―itiscriticallyimportantthatyouconsciouslydeactivatethe
passengerairbagandnotsimplyrelyonthepassengerairbagdeactivationindicatorlight
beingturnedonatalltimes.Inacollision,theforceofanairbagslammingthechild-
restraintsystemrearwardscouldresultindeathtothechildevenifthechildisproperly
belted.BealerttotheoperationoftheindicatorlightandBESURETHEPASSENGER
AIRBAGISALWAYSDEACTIVATEDASINDICATEDBYPASSENGERAIRBAG
DEACTIVATIONINDICATORLIGHT.
