Donotincreasethetotalseatedweightonthepassengerseat:
Whenaninfantorsmallchildsitsonthepassengerseat,increasingthetotalseated
weightonthepassengerseatfromthetotalseatedweightofapproximately30kg
(66
lbs)isdangerous.Thepassengerseatweightsensorswilldetecttheincreased
totalseatedweight,whichcouldresultintheunexpecteddeploymentofthe
passengerfrontandsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensionersysteminanaccident
andmaycauseseriousinjury.Increasingthetotalseatedweightonthepassenger
seatbeyondthetotalseatedweightofapproximately30kg(66lbs)couldresultin
thepassengerfrontandsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensionersystemdeployment
inanaccidentunderthefollowingconditions,forexample:
ØThetotalseatedweightofthechildwiththechild-restraintsystemonthe
passengerseatisapproximately30kg(66lbs)ormore.
ØLuggageorotheritemsareplacedontheseatwiththechildinthechild-restraint
system.
ØTheseatiswashed.
ØLiquidsarespilledontheseat.
ØThepassengerseatismovedbackward,anditispushedintoluggageorother
itemsplacedbehindit.
ØLuggageorotheritemsareplacedbetweenthepassengerseatandcenter
console.
ØAnyaccessorieswhichmightincreasethetotalseatedweightonthepassenger
seatareattachedtothepassengerseat.
Thepassengerfrontandsideairbagsandseatbeltpretensionersystemswill
deactivateifthetotalseatedweightonthepassengerseatiscloseto30kg(66lbs)
andtheywillreactivatebeforetheweightexceeds42kg(93lbs).
CAUTION
ØToassureproperdeploymentofthefrontairbagandtopreventdamagetothe
sensorsintheseatbottoms:
Ø Donotplacesharpobjectsontheseatbottomsorleaveheavyluggageon
them.
Ø Donotspillanyliquidsontheseatsorundertheseats.
ØToallowthesensorstofunctionproperly,alwaysperformthefollowing:
Ø Adjusttheseatsasfarbackaspossibleandalwayssituprightagainstthe
seatbackswithseatbeltswornproperly.
Ø Ifyouplaceyourchildonthepassengerseat,securethechild-restraintsystem
properlyandslidethepassengerseatasfarbackaspossible.
