Sittingtooclosetothesideairbagmodulesorplacinghandsonthemisextremely
dangerous.Asideairbaginflateswithgreatforceandspeeddirectlyoutofthe
outboardshoulderoftheseatandexpandsalongthedooronthesidethecarishit.
Seriousinjurycouldoccurifsomeoneissittingtooclosetothedoororleaning
againstawindowintheseats.Furthermore,sleepingupagainstthedoororhanging
outthedriver-sidewindowwhiledrivingcouldblockthesideairbagandeliminate
theadvantagesofsupplementalprotection.Givethesideairbagsroomtoworkby
sittinginthecenteroftheseatwhilethevehicleismovingwithseatbeltsworn
properly.
Donotattachobjectsonoraroundtheareawheredriverandpassengerairbags
deploy:
Attachinganobjecttothedriverandpassengerairbagmodulesorplacing
somethinginfrontofthemisdangerous.Inanaccident,anobjectcouldinterfere
withairbaginflationandinjuretheoccupants.
Donotattachobjectsonoraroundtheareawhereasideairbagdeploys:
Attachingthingstotheseatinsuchawayastocovertheoutboardsideoftheseat
inanywayisdangerous.Inanaccidenttheobjectcouldinterferewiththesideair
bag,whichinflatesfromtheoutboardsideoftheseats,impedingtheadded
protectionofthesideairbagsystemorredirectingtheairbaginawaythatis
dangerous.Furthermore,thebagcouldbecutopenreleasingthegas.
Neveruseseatcoversontheseats.Alwayskeepthesideairbagmodulesinyour
seatsfreetodeployintheeventofasidecollision.
Donotplaceluggageorotherobjectsundertheseats:
Placingluggageorotherobjectsundertheseatsisdangerous.Thecomponents
essentialtothesupplementalrestraintsystemcouldbedamaged,andintheeventof
asidecollision,theappropriateairbagsmaynotdeploy,whichcouldresultindeath
orseriousinjury.Topreventdamagetothecomponentsessentialtothe
supplementalrestraintsystem,donotplaceluggageorotherobjectsunderthe
seats.
Donottouchthecomponentsofthesupplementalrestraintsystemaftertheairbags
haveinflated:
Touchingthecomponentsofthesupplementalrestraintsystemaftertheairbags
haveinflatedisdangerous.Immediatelyafterinflation,theyareveryhot.Youcould
getburned.
Neverinstallanyfront-endequipmenttoyourvehicle:
Installationoffront-endequipment,suchasfrontalprotectionbar(kangaroobar,
bullbar,pushbar,orothersimilardevices),snowplow,orwinches,isdangerous.The
airbagcrashsensorsystemcouldbeaffected.Thiscouldcauseairbagstoinflate
unexpectedly,oritcouldpreventtheairbagsfrominflatingduringanaccident.
Occupantscouldbeseriouslyinjured.
