Tires, Wheels and Loading
Atleastonceamonthandbeforelongtrips,inspecteachtireandcheck
thetirepressurewithatiregauge(includingspare,ifequipped).Inflate
alltirestotheinflationpressurerecommendedbyMazda.
Youarestronglyurgedtobuyareliabletirepressuregauge,asautomatic
servicestationgaugesmaybeinaccurate.Mazdarecommendstheuseof
adigitalordialtypetirepressuregaugeratherthanasticktypetire
pressuregauge.
Usetherecommendedcoldinflationpressureforoptimumtire
performanceandwear.Under-inflationorover-inflationmaycause
uneventreadwearpatterns.
NOTE:Ifyouaredrivingthevehicleatitsmaximumweightload,make
surethetireinflationpressureiscorrectfortheweightloadonthetires.
WARNING:Under-inflationisthemostcommoncauseoftire
failuresandmayresultinseveretirecracking,treadseparation
orЉblowoutЉ,withunexpectedlossofvehiclecontrolandincreasedrisk
ofinjury.Under-inflationincreasessidewallflexingandrolling
resistance,resultinginheatbuildupandinternaldamagetothetire.It
alsomayresultinunnecessarytirestress,irregularwear,lossof
vehiclecontrolandaccidents.Atirecanloseuptohalfofitsair
pressureandnotappeartobeflat!
AlwaysinflateyourtirestotheMazdarecommendedinflationpressure
evenifitislessthanthemaximuminflationpressureinformationfound
onthetire.TheMazdarecommendedtireinflationpressureisfoundon
theSafetyComplianceCertificationLabelorTireLabelwhichislocated
ontheB-Pillarortheedgeofthedriver’sdoor.Failuretofollowthetire
pressurerecommendationscancauseuneventreadwearpatternsand
adverselyaffectthewayyourvehiclehandles.
MaximumPermissibleInflationPressureisthetiremanufactures’
maximumpermissiblepressureand/orthepressureatwhichthe
maximumloadcanbecarriedbythetire.Thispressureisnormally
higherthanthemanufacturer’srecommendedcoldinflationpressure
whichcanbefoundoneithertheSafetyComplianceCertificationLabel
orTireLabelwhichislocatedontheB-Pillarortheedgeofthedriver’s
door.Thecoldinflationpressureshouldneverbesetlowerthanthe
recommendedpressureontheSafetyComplianceCertificationLabelor
TireLabel.
Whenweathertemperaturechangesoccur,tireinflationpressuresalso
change.A10°F(6°C)temperaturedropcancauseacorresponding
dropof1psi(7kPa)ininflationpressure.Checkyourtirepressures
