Inanemergency,todisablethemalfunctioningbrake-shiftinterlock
featureinordertoshiftthevehiclefromP(Park)followthesesteps:
WARNING:Topreventvehiclemovementwhenfollowingthis
procedure,parkonalevelsurface,ensureparkingbrakeisset,
andblocktherearwheels.

Applytheparkingbrake.Turnkeytothe2(lock)andthenremove
thekey;

Disconnectthenegative(Black)batterycablefromthebattery;
Insertthekeyandturnto3(off).ShifttoN(Neutral);
Reconnectthenegative(Black)batterycabletothebattery;
Startthevehicle.
Seeyourauthorizeddealerforserviceimmediately.
WARNING:Ifyourbrakelampsarenotworkingproperlyorif
youhavedisconnectedthevehiclebatterycables,thevehicle
brakelampsandhazardflashersmaynotproperlywarntrafficofa
vehiclebreakdownorapproachingdanger,whichcanincreasetherisk
ofseriousinjuryordeath.Tominimizetheriskofseriousinjuryor
death,beawareofyoursurroundings,useotherhazardsignaling
devicesifavailable,andmovethevehicletoasafelocationawayfrom
trafficassoonaspossible.
WARNING:Donotdriveyourvehicleuntilyouverifythatthe
brakelampsareworking.
WARNING:Alwayssettheparkingbrakefullyandmakesure
thegearshiftislatchedinP(Park).Turntheignitiontothelock
positionandremovethekeywheneveryouleaveyourvehicle.
WARNING:Iftheparkingbrakeisfullyreleased,butthebrake
warninglampremainsilluminated,thebrakesmaynotbe
workingproperly.Seeyourauthorizeddealer.
