positionthelapbeltcorrectlymaycauseseriousinjuryinanaccident.
Insertthetongueintothecorrect
buckle(thebuckleclosesttothe
directionthetongueiscoming
from).Tolengthenthebelt,turnthe
tongueatarightangletothebelt
andpullacrossyourlapuntilit
reachesthebuckle.
Totightenthebelt,pulltheloose
endofthebeltthroughthetongue
untilitfitssnuglyacrossthehips.
Shortenandfastenthebelt
whennotinusetokeepthebelt
awayfromdooropeningsand
availableafterunfoldingthe
seats.
Fortherearjumpseat,shortenand
foldthebeltintotheseatwhennot
inuse.

featureatthefrontoutboardseatingpositionstohelpfurtherreduce
theriskofinjuryintheeventofahead-oncollision.

Thisenergymanagementsystemhasaretractorassemblythatis
designedtopayoutwebbinginacontrolledmanner.Thisfeatureis
designedtohelpreducethebeltforceactingontheoccupant’schest.
Thefrontoutboardsafetyrestraintsinthevehiclearecombinationlap
andshoulderbelts.Thedriverseatbelthasthefirsttwotypesoflocking
modesandthefrontpassengeroutboardseatbelthasallthreetypesof
lockingmodesdescribedbelow:
