Utilityvehiclesandtruckshavelargertiresandincreasedground
clearance,givingthevehicleahighercenterofgravitythanapassenger
car.
WARNING:Vehicleswithahighercenterofgravitysuchas
utilityvehiclesandtruckshandledifferentlythanvehicleswitha
lowercenterofgravity.Utilityvehiclesandtrucksarenotdesignedfor
corneringatspeedsashighaspassengercarsanymorethanlow-slung
sportscarsaredesignedtoperformsatisfactorilyunderoff-road
conditions.Avoidsharpturns,excessivespeedorabruptmaneuversin
thesevehicles.Failuretodrivecautiouslycouldresultinanincreased
riskoflossofvehiclecontrol,vehiclerollover,personalinjuryand
death.
WARNING:Loadedvehicles,withahighercenterofgravity,
mayhandledifferentlythanunloadedvehicles.Donotoverload
yourvehicleanduseextraprecautions,suchasdrivingatslower
speeds,avoidingabruptsteeringchangesandallowingforincreased
stoppingdistance,whendrivingaheavilyloadedvehicle.Over-loading
orloadingthevehicleimproperlycandeterioratehandlingcapability
andcontributetolossofvehiclecontrolandvehiclerollover.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OPERATION (IF EQUIPPED)
Brake-shift interlock
Thevehicleisequippedwithabrake-shiftinterlockfeaturethatprevents
thegearshiftleverfrombeingmovedfromP(Park)unlessthebrake
pedalisdepressed.
IfyoucannotmovethegearshiftleveroutofP(Park)positionwiththe
ignitioninthe(4)ONpositionandthebrakepedaldepressed,a
malfunctionmayhaveoccurred.Itispossiblethatthevehicle’s
brakelampsarenotoperatingproperly.Ifthebrakelampsareworking
properly,andthevehiclestillwillnotshiftoutof(P)Park,seeyour
authorizeddealerforservice.
