stops.
Ifthe“ServiceEngineSoon/CheckEngine”indicator
comesonandstaysonwhenyoustarttheengine,
thefuelfillercapmaynotbeproperlyinstalled.
Turnofftheengine,removethefuelfillercap,align
thecapproperlyandreinstallit.
Ifyoumustreplacethefuelfillercap,replace
itwithafuelfillercapthatisdesignedfor
yourvehicle.Thecustomerwarrantymaybe
voidforanydamagetothefueltankorfuel
systemifthecorrectgenuineFordor
Motorcraftfuelfillercapisnotused.
Thefuelsystemmaybeunderpressure.If
thefuelfillercapisventingvapororifyou
hearahissingsound,waituntilitstopsbefore
completelyremovingthefuelfillercap.Otherwise,
fuelmaysprayoutandinjureyouorothers.
Ifyoudonotusetheproperfuelfillercap,
excessivepressureorvacuuminthefuel
tankmaydamagethefuelsystemorcausethefuel
systemtoworkimproperlyinacollision,which
mayresultinpossiblepersonalinjury.

UseonlyUNLEADEDFUEL.Theuseofleadedfuel
isprohibitedbylawandcoulddamageyourvehicle.
Donotusefuelcontainingmethanol.Itcandamage
criticalfuelsystemcomponents.
Yourvehiclewasnotdesignedtousefuelorfuel
additiveswithmetalliccompounds,including
manganese-basedcompoundscontainingMMT.
Repairstocorrecttheeffectsofusingafuelfor
whichyourvehiclewasnotdesignedmaynotbe
coveredbyyourwarranty.
