adifferentbrandofgasoline.“Premium”unleaded
gasolineshouldnotbeused(particularlyintheUnited
States)if“Regular”unleadedgasolineisrecommended
becauseitmaycausetheseproblemstobecomemore
pronounced.Iftheproblemspersist,seeyourdealeror
aqualifiedservicetechnician.
Itshouldnotbenecessarytoaddanyaftermarket
productstoyourfueltankifyoucontinuetousea
highqualityfuel.
Cleaner air
Fordapprovestheuseofgasolinestoimproveair
quality,includingreformulatedgasolinesthatcontain
oxygenatesupto10%ethanolor15%MTBE.
Running out of fuel
Avoidrunningoutfuelbecausethissituationmay
haveanadverseaffectonpowertraincomponents.
Ifyouhaverunoutoffuel:

afterrefuelingbeforethesystemstartstopump
thefuelfromthetanktotheengine.

Fuel Filter
Forfuelfilterreplacement,seeyourdealerora
qualifiedservicetechnician.RefertotheScheduled
MaintenanceGuidefortheappropriateintervalsfor
changingthefuelfilter.
Replacethefuelfilterwithanauthorized
Motorcraftpart.Thecustomerwarrantymay
bevoidforanydamagetothefuelsystemifan
authorizedMotorcraftfuelfilterisnotused.
