Yourvehicleisequippedwithsafetybeltscontaining
anadjusttongueattherear-facingseatingpositions.
Whentheadjusttongueofthelap/shoulder
combinationseatbeltislatchedintothebuckle,the
tonguewillallowthelapportiontobecomeshorter,
butlocksthewebbinginplacetorestrictitfrom
becominglonger.
Beforeyoureachandlatchacombinationlapand
shoulderbelthavinganadjusttongueintothe
buckle,youmayhavetolengthenthelapbelt
portionofit.Tolengthenthelapbelt,pullsome
webbingoutoftheshoulderbeltretractor.While
holdingthewebbingbelowthetongue,graspthe
tonguesothatitisparalleltothewebbingandslide
thetongueupward.Provideenoughlengthsothat
thetonguecanreachthebuckle.
Tofastenthebelt,pullthecombinationlapand
shoulderbeltfromtheretractorsothattheshoulder
beltportionofthesafetybeltcrossesyourshoulder
andchest.Besurethebeltisnottwisted.Ifthebelt
istwisted,removethetwist.Insertthetongueinto
theproperbuckleforyourseatingpositionuntilyou
hearasnapandfeelitlatch.Makesurethetongue
issecurelyfastenedtothebucklebypullingonthe
tongue.
