How to disengage the automatic  locking mode
Disconnectthecombinationlap/shoulderbeltand
allowittoretractcompletelytodisengagethe
automaticlockingmodeandactivatethevehicle
sensitive(emergency)lockingmode.
Afteranyvehiclecollision,theseatbelt
systematalloutboardseatingpositions
(exceptdriver,whichhasno“automaticlocking
retractor”feature)mustbecheckedbyaqualified
techniciantoverifythatthe“automaticlocking
retractor”featureforchildseatsisstillfunctioning
properly,inadditiontootherchecksforproper
seatbeltsystemfunction.
BELTANDRETRACTORASSEMBLYMUST
BEREPLACEDiftheseatbeltassembly
“automaticlockingretractor”featureoranyother
seatbeltfunctionisnotoperatingproperlywhen
checkedaccordingtotheproceduresinWorkshop
Manual.
FailuretoreplacetheBeltandRetractor
assemblycouldincreasetheriskofinjuryin
collisions.
