Installing child safety seats in the lap belt seating positions

bottomisperpendiculartothedirectionofwebbingwhileslidingthe
tongueupthewebbing.
Lengthenthelapbelt.Tolengthenthebelt,holdthetonguesothatits

Placethechildsafetyseatinthecenterseatingposition.
Routethetongueandwebbingthroughthechildseataccordingtothe
childseatmanufacturer’sinstructions.

securelyfastenedtothebucklebypullingontongue.
Insertthebelttongueintotheproperbuckleforthecenterseating

Pushdownonthechildseatwhilepullingonthelooseendofthelap
beltwebbingtotightenthebelt.
Beforeplacingthechildintothechildseat,forciblytiltthechildseat

fromsidetosideandinforwarddirectiontomakesurethattheseatis
heldsecurelyinplace.Ifthechildseatmovesexcessively,repeatsteps5
through6,orproperlyinstallthechildseatinadifferentposition.
Attaching child safety seats with tether straps
Mostnewforward-facingchildsafetyseatsincludeatetherstrapwhich
goesoverthebackoftheseatandhookstoananchoringpoint.Tether
strapsareavailableasanaccessoryformanyoldersafetyseats.Contact
themanufacturerofyourchildseatforinformationaboutorderinga
tetherstrap.

anchorslocatedbehindtheseatsasdescribedbelow.

withthetetheranchorsymbol(shownwithtitle).

Attachthetetherstraponlytotheappropriatetetheranchoras
shown.Thetetherstrapmaynotworkproperlyifattached
somewhereotherthanthecorrecttetheranchor.
