TRACTION CONTROLி (IF EQUIPPED)
YourvehiclemaybeequippedwiththeoptionalTractionControl௢
system.Thissystemhelpsyoumaintainthestabilityandsteerabilityof
yourvehicle.Itisespeciallyusefulonslipperyand/orhillyroadsurfaces.
Thesystemoperatesbydetectingandcontrollingwheelspin.Thesystem
borrowsmanyoftheelectronicandmechanicalelementsalreadypresent
intheanti-lockbrakingsystem(ABS).
Wheel-speedsensorsallowexcessfrontwheelspintobedetectedbythe
TractionControl௢portionoftheABScomputer.Anyexcessivewheel
spiniscontrolledbyautomaticallyapplyingandreleasingthefront
brakesinconjunctionwithenginetorquereductions.Enginetorque
reductionisrealizedviathefullyelectronicsparkandfuelinjection
systems.Thisprocessisverysensitivetodrivingconditionsandveryfast
acting.Thefrontwheels“search”foroptimumtractionseveraltimesa
secondandadjustmentsaremadeaccordingly.
TheTractionControl௢systemwillallowyourvehicletomakebetteruse
ofavailabletractiononslipperysurfaces.Thesystemisadriveraid
whichmakesyourvehicleeasiertohandleprimarilyonsnow,icecovered
andgravelroads.
