DONOTuseadevicethatwouldholdthefuelpumphandleinthefill
position.
Fuel Filler Cap
Yourfueltankfillercaphasanindexeddesignwitha1/8turnon/off
feature.
Whenfuelingyourvehicle:

Turntheengineoff.
Carefullyturnthefillercapcounterclockwise1/8ofaturnuntilit
stops.
3.
Pulltoremovethecapfromthefuelfillerpipe.
4.
Toinstallthecap,alignthetabsonthecapwiththenotchesonthe
fillerpipe.
Turnthefillercapclockwise1/8ofaturnuntilitstops.
Ifthe“CheckFuelCap” indicatorcomesonorif“ServiceEngine

Soon/CheckEngine”indicatorcomesonandstaysonwhenyoustartthe
engine,thefuelfillercapmaynotbeproperlyinstalled.Turnoffthe
engine,removethefuelfillercap,alignthecapproperlyandreinstallit.
Ifyoumustreplacethefuelfillercap,replaceitwithafuelfiller
capthatisdesignedforyourvehicle.Thecustomerwarrantymay
bevoidforanydamagetothefueltankorfuelsystemifthe
correctgenuineFordorMotorcraftfuelfillercapisnotused.
