side-impacts,orrear-impactsunless
thecollisioncausessufficient
longitudinaldeceleration.Thefact
thatthepretensionersorairbags
didnotactivateinacollisiondoes
notmeanthatsomethingiswrong
withthesystem.Rather,itmeans
thePersonalSafetySystem
determinedtheoccupantconditions
orcrashseveritywerenotappropriatetoactivatethesesafetydevices.
Safety belt precautions
Alwaysdriveandridewithyourseatbackuprightandthelap
beltsnugandlowacrossthehips.
Toreducetheriskofinjury,makesurechildrensitwherethey
canbeproperlyrestrained.
Neverletapassengerholdachildonhisorherlapwhilethe
vehicleismoving.Thepassengercannotprotectthechildfrom
injuryinacollision.
Alloccupantsofthevehicle,includingthedriver,shouldalways
properlyweartheirsafetybelts,evenwhenanairbagSRSis
provided.
Itisextremelydangeroustorideinacargoarea,insideor
outsideofavehicle.Inacollision,peopleridingintheseareas
aremorelikelytobeseriouslyinjuredorkilled.Donotallowpeopleto
rideinanyareaofyourvehiclethatisnotequippedwithseatsand
safetybelts.Besureeveryoneinyourvehicleisinaseatandusinga
safetybeltproperly.
