Tofastenthebelt,pullthecombinationlapandshoulderbeltfromthe
retractorsothattheshoulderbeltportionofthesafetybeltcrossesyour
shoulderandchest.Besurethebeltisnottwisted.Ifthebeltistwisted,
removethetwist.Insertthetongueintotheproperbuckleforyour
seatingpositionuntilyouhearasnapandfeelitlatch.Makesurethe
tongueissecurelyfastenedtothebucklebypullingonthetongue.
Thelapbeltshouldfitsnuglyandaslowaspossiblearoundthe
hips,notacrossthewaist.
Frontandrearseatoccupants,includingpregnantwomen,
shouldwearsafetybeltsforoptimumprotectioninanaccident.
Eachseatingpositioninyourvehiclehasaspecificsafetybelt
assemblywhichismadeupofonebuckleandonetonguethat
aredesignedtobeusedasapair.1)Usetheshoulderbeltonthe
outsideshoulderonly.Neverweartheshoulderbeltunderthearm.2)
Neverswingthesafetybeltaroundyourneckovertheinsideshoulder.

Duetofoldingrearseats,sometimesthebucklesandtonguestowardthe
centerofthevehiclemaybehiddenbytherearedgeoftheseatcushion.
Pullthemoutsotheywillbeaccessible.
Whileyouarefastenedintheseatbelt,theshoulderbeltadjuststoyour
movement.However,ifyoubrakehard,turnhardoryourvehicle
receivesanimpactof8km/h(5mph)ormore,thesafetybeltwill
becomelockedandhelpreduceyourforwardmovement.
Tounfastenthebelt,pushtheredreleasebuttonontheendofthe
buckle.Thisallowsthetonguetounlatchfromthebuckle.Whilethebelt
retracts,guidethetonguetoitsoriginalpositiontopreventitfrom
strikingyouorthevehicle.
