Children) attachments for child seat anchors
Somechildsafetyseatshavetworigidorwebbingmountedattachments
thatconnecttotwoanchorsatcertainseatingpositionsinyourvehicle.
Thistypeofchildseateliminatestheneedtouseseatbeltstoattachthe
childseat.Forforward-facingchildseats,thetetherstrapmustalsobe
attachedtothepropertetheranchor.SeeAttachingsafetyseatswith
tetherstrapsinthischapter.
YourvehiclehasLATCHanchorsforchildseatinstallationatthe
followinglocations:
Theanchorsonbothsidesofthe
centeroftherearseatareprovided
primarilyforchildseatsatthe
outboardseats,andarefurther
apartthanthepairsoflower
anchorsforchildseatinstallationat
otherseats.Achildseatwithrigid
LATCHattachmentscannotbe
installedatthecenterrearseat.A
childseatwithLATCHattachmentsonbeltwebbingcanbeusedatthe
centerrearseatunlessachildseatatanoutboardrearseatisattached
tooneoftheseloweranchors.Installachildseatontotheloweranchors
atthecenterrearseatONLYIFthechildrestraintmanufacturer
recommendsthatthechildseatcanbeinstalledtoanchorsthatare
spacedupto500mm(20in)apart.
NeverattachtwoLATCHchildsafetyseatstothesameanchor.
Inacrash,oneanchormaynotbestrongenoughtoholdtwo
childsafetyseatattachmentsandmaybreak,causingseriousinjuryor
death.
