Important SRS precautions
TheSRSisdesignedtoworkwith
thesafetybelttohelpprotectthe
driverandrightfrontpassenger
fromcertainupperbodyinjuries.Air
bagsDONOTinflateslowly;thereis
ariskofinjuryfromadeployingair
bag.
Alloccupantsofthevehicle,includingthedriver,shouldalways
properlyweartheirsafetybelts,evenwhenanairbag(SRS)is
provided.
Alwaystransportchildren12yearsoldandunderintheback
seatandalwaysproperlyuseappropriatechildrestraints.
TheNationalHighwayTrafficSafetyAdministration(NHTSA)
recommendsaminimumdistanceofatleast25cm(10inches)
betweenanoccupant’schestandthedriverairbagmodule.
Neverplaceyourarmovertheairbagmoduleasadeployingair
bagcanresultinseriousarmfracturesorotherinjuries.
Toproperlypositionyourselfawayfromtheairbag:

Moveyourseattotherearasfarasyoucanwhilestillreachingthe
pedalscomfortably.
•
Reclinetheseatslightlyoneortwodegreesfromtheuprightposition.
Donotputanythingonorovertheairbagmodule.Placing
objectsonorovertheairbaginflationareamaycausethose
objectstobepropelledbytheairbagintoyourfaceandtorsocausing
seriousinjury.
