reputablerepairfacilitytocheckforandcorrectanywheelmisalignment,
tireimbalanceormechanicalprobleminvolvedbeforetirerotation.
Tire wear
Measureandinspectthetiretreadonallyourtiresperiodically.
Advancedandunusualtirewearcanreducetheabilityoftreadtogrip
theroadinadverse(wet,snowy,etc.)conditions.Visuallycheckyour
tiresforunevenwear,lookingforhighandlowareasorunusually
smoothareas.Alsocheckforsignsoftiredamage.
Whenthetreadisworndownto4
mm(1/16thofaninch),tiresmust
bereplacedtopreventyourvehicle
fromskiddingandhydroplaning.
Built-intreadwearindicators,or
“
wearbars”,whichlooklikenarrow
stripsofsmoothrubberacrossthe
treadwillappearonthetirewhen
thetreadisworndownto4mm(1/16thofaninch).Whenyouseethese
“
wearbars”,thetireiswornoutandshouldbereplaced.
Inspectyourtiresfrequentlyforanyofthefollowingconditionsand
replacethemifoneormoreofthefollowingconditionsexist:

Cracksorcutsonthesidewalls

Impactdamageresultingfromuse

Ifyourvehiclehasaleakintheexhaustsystem,aroadtireorthespare
tiremaybeexposedtohotexhausttemperaturesrequiringthetiretobe
replaced.
