Positions of the ignition
ACCESSORY,allowstheelectrical
accessoriessuchastheradioto
operatewhiletheengineisnot
running.

LOCK,locksthesteeringwheel,

automatictransmissiongearshift
leverandallowskeyremoval.For
vehiclesequippedwithamanual
transmission,youmustdepressthe
ignitionreleaselevertoreleasethe
key.

OFF,shutsofftheengineandallaccessorieswithoutlockingthe
steeringwheel.Thispositionalsoallowstheautomatictransmissionshift
levertobemovedfromtheP(Park)positionwithoutthebrakepedal
beingdepressed.
WhenthekeyisintheignitionandintheOFFposition,the
automatictransmissionshiftlevercanbemovedfromtheP
(Park)positionwithoutthebrakepedaldepressed.Toavoidunwanted
vehiclemovement,alwayssettheparkingbrake.
4.
ON,allelectricalcircuitsoperational.Warninglightsilluminated.Key
positionwhendriving.
5.
START,crankstheengine.Releasethekeyassoonastheengine
starts.

Whenstartingafuel-injectedengine,don’tpresstheacceleratorbefore
orduringstarting.Onlyusetheacceleratorwhenyouhavedifficulty
