Tire and wheel alignment
Abadjoltfromhittingacurborpotholecancausethefrontendofyour
vehicletobecomemisalignedorcausedamagetoyourtires.Ifyour
vehicleseemstopulltoonesidewhenyou’redriving,thewheelsmaybe
outofalignment.HaveaqualifiedtechnicianataFordor
Lincoln/Mercurydealercheckthewheelalignmentperiodically.
Wheelmisalignmentinthefrontortherearcancauseunevenandrapid
treadwearofyourtiresandshouldbecorrectedbyaqualifiedtechnician
ataFordorLincoln/Mercurydealer.Frontwheeldrive(FWD)vehicles
andthosewithanindependentrearsuspensionrequirealignmentofall
fourwheels.
Thetiresshouldalsobebalancedperiodically.Anunbalancedtireand
wheelassemblymayresultinirregulartirewear.
Tire rotation
Rotatingyourtiresattherecommendedinterval(asindicatedinthe
ScheduledMaintenanceGuidethatcomeswithyourvehicle)willhelp
yourtireswearmoreevenly,providingbettertireperformanceand
longertirelife.Unlessotherwisespecified,rotatethetiresapproximately
every5,000miles(8,000km).
