Checkthepowersteeringfluid.
Refertothescheduledmaintenance
guidefortheserviceinterval
schedules.Ifaddingfluidis
necessary,useonlyMERCONATF.
Checkthefluidlevelwhenitisatambienttemperature,20°–80°F
(-7
°–25°C):
1.
Checkthefluidlevelonthedipstick.Itshouldbebetweenthearrows
intheFULLCOLDrange.Donotaddfluidiftheleveliswithinthis
range.
2.
Ifthefluidlevelislow.Addfluidtobringfluidleveluptobebetween
thearrowsintheFULLCOLDrange.
3.

Starttheengine.
Whiletheengineidles,turnthesteeringwheelleftandrightseveral
times.
5.
6.
Turntheengineoff.
Recheckthefluidlevelonthedipstick.Donotaddfluidifthelevelis
betweenthearrowsintheFULLCOLDrange.
7.
Ifthefluidislow,addfluidinsmallamounts,continuouslychecking
theleveluntilitreachestheFULLCOLDrange.Besuretoputthe
dipstickbackinthereservoir.
BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR
Thefluidlevelwilldropslowlyas
thebrakeswear,andwillrisewhen
thebrakecomponentsarereplaced.
Fluidlevelsbelowthe“MAX”line
thatdonottriggerthebrakesystem
warninglamparewithinthenormal
operatingrange,thereisnoneedto
addfluid.Ifthefluidlevelsareoutsideofthenormaloperatingrange,
theperformanceofyourbrakesystemcouldbecompromised,seek
servicefromyourdealerimmediately.
