Anexampleofrecreationaltowingistowingyourvehiclebehinda
motorhome.Thefollowingrecreationaltowingguidelinesaredesignedto
ensurethatyourtransmissionisnotdamaged.

PlacethetransmissioninN(Neutral).
Maximumspeedis35mph(56km/h).
Maximumdistanceis50miles(80km).
Ifadistanceof50miles(80km)oraspeedof35mph(56km/h)must
beexceeded,youmustdisconnectthedriveshaft.Fordrecommendsthe
driveshaftberemoved/installedonlybyaqualifiedtechnician.Seeyour
localdealerfordriveshaftremoval/installation.
Improperremoval/installationofthedriveshaftcancause
transmissionfluidloss,damagetothedriveshaftandinternal
transmissioncomponents.
RWDvehicleswith4x4electronicshifttransfercaseorAllWheel
Drive(AWD)vehicleswithautomatictransmissions:
Regardingrecreationaltowingorhavingyourvehicletowed,4x4vehicles
withelectronicshiftontheflyandAWDvehiclescannotbetowedwith
anywheelsontheground(withtheexceptionofmovingitasadisabled
vehicleofftheroadoutoftraffic).

FordrecommendsthattheSuperDutyF-Seriesusedforsnowremoval
includetheSnowPlowPackageOption.Thisoptionisavailableon4x4
only,andincludesthefollowingupgrades:
