Donotpark,idle,ordriveyourvehicleindrygrassorotherdry
groundcover.Theemissionsystemheatsuptheengine
compartmentandexhaustsystem,whichcanstartafire.
Donotstartyourvehicleinaclosedgarageorinotherenclosed
areas.Exhaustfumescanbetoxic.Alwaysopenthegaragedoor
beforeyoustarttheengine.SeeGuardingagainstexhaustfumesin
thischapterformoreinstructions.
Ifyousmellexhaustfumesinsideyourvehicle,haveyourdealer
inspectyourvehicleimmediately.Donotdriveifyousmell
exhaustfumes.
Importantsafetyprecautions
Whentheenginestarts,theidleRPMrunsfastertowarmtheengine.If
theengineidlespeeddoesnotslowdownautomatically,havethevehicle
checked.Ifyourvehicleisoperatedinaheavysnowstormorblowing
snowconditions,theengineairinductionmaybecomepartiallyclogged
withsnowand/orice.Ifthisoccurs,theenginemayexperiencea
significantreductioninpoweroutput.Attheearliestopportunity,clear
allthesnowand/oriceawayfromtheairinductioninlet.Thefollowing
