Important child restraint precautions
NOTE:YouarerequiredtousesafetyrestraintsforchildrenintheU.S.
andCanada.Checkyourlocalandstateorprovinciallawsforspecific
requirementsregardingthesafetyofchildreninyourvehicle.
WARNING: Neverletapassengerholdachildonhisorherlap
whilethevehicleismoving.Thepassengercannotprotectthe
childfrominjuryinacollision.
NOTE:Alwaysfollowtheinstructionsandwarningsthatcomewithany
infantorchildrestraintyoumightuse.
WARNING: Whenpossible,alwaysplacechildrenunderage12
intherearseatofyourvehicle.Accidentstatisticssuggestthat
childrenaresaferwhenproperlyrestrainedintherearseating
positionsthaninthefrontseatingposition.
Children and safety belts
Ifthechildisthepropersize,restrainthechildinasafetyseat.
Childrenwhoaretoolargeforchildsafetyseats(asspecifiedbyyour
childsafetyseatmanufacturer)shouldalwayswearsafetybelts.
Followalltheimportantsafetyrestraintandairbagprecautionsthat
applytoadultpassengersinyourvehicle.
Iftheshoulderbeltportionofacombinationlapandshoulderbeltcan
bepositionedsoitdoesnotcrossorrestinfrontofthechild’sfaceor
neck,thechildshouldwearthelapandshoulderbelt.Movingthechild
closertothecenterofthevehiclemayhelpprovideagoodshoulderbelt
fit.
