AIR FILTER MAINTENANCE
Refertotheservicemaintenancesectionfortheappropriateintervalsfor
changingtheairfilterelement.
Whenchangingtheairfilterelement,onlyuseaGenuineMazdaairfilter
element.
WARNING: Don’tdrivewithoutanairfilter.Thiscouldresult
inexcessiveenginewear.
Changing the air filter element

Loosentheclampthatsecurestheairinlettubetotheengineair
filtercoveranddisconnectthetubefromthecover.

Releasetheclampsthatsecuretheairfilterhousingcover.
Carefullyseparatethetwohalvesoftheairfilterhousing.
Removetheairfilterelementfromtheairfilterhousing.
Wipetheairfilterhousingandcovercleantoremoveanydirtor
debrisandtoensuregoodsealing.

Installanewairfilterelement.
Becarefulnottocrimpthefilter
elementedgesbetweentheair
filterhousingandcover.This
couldcausefilterdamageand
allowunfilteredairtoenterthe
engineifnotproperlyseated.

Replacetheairfilterhousingcoverandsecuretheclamps.
Replacetheairinlettubeandsecuretheclamp.
Note:Failuretousethecorrectairfilterelementmayresultinsevere
enginedamage.Thecustomerwarrantymaybevoidedforanydamageto
theengineifthecorrectairfilterelementisnotused.
