TPMS reset procedure
TheTPMSresetprocedureneedstobeperformedaftereachtire
rotation.
WARNING:Todeterminetherequiredpressureforyourvehicle
–
refertotheSafetyComplianceCertificationLabelorTireLabel
locatedontheB-Pillarortheedgeofthedriver’sdoor.SeeVehicle
loadinginthischapterformoreinformation.
Overview
Toprovidethevehicle’sloadcarryingcapability,thisvehiclerequires
differentrecommendedtirepressuresinthefronttiresascomparedto
thereartires.TheTirePressureMonitoringSystem(TPMS)equippedon
thesevehiclesisdesignedtoilluminatetheLowTirePressureWarning
indicatorattwodifferentpressures;oneforthefronttiresandonefor
thereartires.
Sincetiresneedtoberotatedtoprovideconsistentperformanceand
maximumtirelife,theTirePressureMonitoringSystemneedstoknow
whenthetiresarerotatedtodeterminewhichsetoftiresareonthe
frontandwhichareontherear.Withthisinformation,thesystemcan
detectandproperlywarnoflowtirepressures.
TPMSresettips:
•
Toreducethechancesofinterferencefromanothervehicle,theTPMS
resetprocedureshouldbeperformedatleast3feet(1meter)away
fromanotherFordMotorCompanyvehicleundergoingtheTPMSreset
procedureatthesametime.
•

Donotwaitmorethantwo(2)minutesbetweenresettingeachtire
sensororthesystemwilltimeoutandtheentireprocedurewillhave
toberepeatedonallfourwheels.
Adoublehornchirpindicatestheneedtorepeattheprocedure.
PerformingtheTPMSresetprocedure
Itisrecommendedthatyoureadtheentireprocedurebeforeattempting.

Drivethevehicleabove20mph(32km/h)foratleast2minutesand
