Adjustingautomatictransmissionfluidlevels
Beforeaddinganyfluid,makesurethecorrecttypeisused.Thetypeof
fluidusedisnormallyindicatedonthedipstickandalsointhe
Maintenanceproductspecificationsandcapacitiessectioninthis
chapter.
Useofanon-approvedautomatictransmissionfluidmaycause
internaltransmissioncomponentdamage.
Ifnecessary,addfluidin1/2pint(250ml)incrementsthroughthefiller
tubeuntiltheleveliscorrect.Afteraddingfluid,wait20minutesbefore
checkingthefluidlevelinordertoallowtheleveltostabilize.
Ifanoverfilloccurs,excessfluid
shouldberemovedbyanauthorized
dealer.Ifthefluidlevelisabovethe
MAXmark,fluidwillhavetobe
removed.
Anoverfillconditionoftransmissionfluidmaycauseshiftand/or
engagementconcernsand/orpossibledamage.
Donotusesupplementaltransmissionfluidadditives,treatmentsor
cleaningagents.Theuseofthesematerialsmayaffecttransmission
operationandresultindamagetointernaltransmissioncomponents.
