Starting the engine

turningthekeytoIII(start).
2.
TurnthekeytoIII(start),then
releasethekeyassoonasthe
enginebeginscranking.Yourvehicle
hasacomputerassistedcranking
systemthatassistsinstartingthe
engine.Afterreleasingthekeyfrom
theIII(start)position,theenginemaycontinuecrankingforupto
10
secondsoruntilthevehiclestarts.
Note:Crankingmaybestoppedatanytimebyturningthekeytotheoff
position.

Afteridlingforafewseconds,releasetheparkingbrake,applythe
brake,shiftintogearanddrive.
Note:Iftheenginedoesnotstartonthefirsttry,turnthekeytotheO
(off)position,wait10secondsandtryStep2again.Iftheenginestill
failstostart,presstheacceleratortothefloorandtryStep2again,
keepingtheacceleratorontheflooruntiltheenginebeginstoaccelerate
abovecrankingspeeds;thiswillallowtheenginetocrankwiththefuel
shutoffincasetheengineisfloodedwithfuel.
