1.
Laythetireonthegroundwiththevalvestemfacinguptowardthe
vehicle.
2.
throughthewheelcenter.Pullonthecablestoalignthecomponentsat
theendofthecables.
Slidethewheelpartiallyunderthevehicleandinstalltheretainer
3.
Attachthesecondcablebyscrewingtheboltintooneoftheholesin
thewheel.
4.
Turntheendofthefirstcablesoitfitsthroughtheslotandinstallthe
cable.Thenslidethecapovertheretainer.
5.
Turnthelugwrenchclockwiseuntilthetireisraisedtoitsstowed
positionunderneaththevehicle.Theefforttoturnthejackhandle
increasessignificantlyandthesparetirecarrierratchetsorslipswhen
thetireisraisedtothemaximumtightness.Tightentothebestofyour
ability,tothepointwheretheratchet/slipoccurs,ifpossible.Thespare
tirecarrierwillnotallowyoutoovertighten.Ifthesparetirecarrier
ratchetsorslipswithlittleeffort,takethevehicletoyourauthorized
dealerforassistanceatyourearliestconvenience.
6.
Checkthatthetireliesflatagainsttheframeandisproperly
tightened.Trytopushorpull,thenturnthetiretobesureitwillnot
move.Loosenandretighten,ifnecessary.Failuretoproperlystowthe
sparetiremayresultinfailureofthewinchcableandlossofthetire.
7.
Repeatthistightnesscheckprocedurewhenservicingthesparetire
pressure(everysixmonths,perscheduledmaintenanceinformation),
oratanytimethatthesparetireisdisturbedthroughserviceofother
components.
Returnthejackandtoolstothestoragepositioninthecargoarea.
