Do  not  qu ickly  move  the   steering   wheel
unless   necessary.
Drive  slow er  than   you  norm ally  would.
Give  you r  vehicle  more   distance   to  stop .
Pu mp  the  brake   pedal   stead ily  and  evenly   to
avoid   locking  you r  wheels.   (Does  not  ap ply
to  vehicles   with  anti-lock   brakes.)
Consid er  using   one  of  the  low er  gears.
RWARN ING
To  avoid  skidding    and  losin g  control  on
slip pery  road s,  do not   downshift   into   1
(First)  when   you  are  movin g faster   than
20
mph  (30  km/h).
RWARN ING
If  you r veh icle  has  speed  control,   do  not
use  it  on  slip pery  road s. You  could  lose
control   of you r  veh icle and  could   injure
som eon e.
If you r  vehicle   gets  stu ck (for  exam ple,  in  mud
or  snow ),  you  may  try   to  “rock”  it  ou t  of the
spot.  Shift,  in  a  stead y  rhythm  , betw een   forw ard
and  reverse   gears.   While  in  each  gear,   press
lightly   on  the  accelerator   and   release.
RWARN ING
Do  not  spin  the  wheels   at  over  35  mph
(55
km/h).  The  tires   may  fail  and  injure   a
passen ger  or  bystan  der.
