Never   use:
“N on-Detergent”    oils
Oils  labeled   API  SA, SB,  SC,  SD, SE,  SF or  SG
Ad ditional   engine  oil  ad ditives,   oil  treatm ents
or  engine   treatm ents
Engine  oils  with   an  SAE  5W-30  viscosity  are
PREFERRED   for  you r vehicle.   They  provid  e  the
best  engine   perform  ance,  fuel  econom y  and
engine   protection   for  all  climates   dow n  to  -15˚F
(-25˚C).
Synthetic   engine   oils  which  are  CERTIFIED  and
of  the  preferred   viscosity   may   be  used  in  you r
engine.   The  engine  oil  and   oil  filter  must   still  be
changed   accord ing  to  the   maintenance    sched ule.
Checking   and  Adding   Engin  e Oil
Since  the  prop er  am ount   of engine   oil  is
important    for  safe  engine   operation,   check  the   oil
using   the  dipstick   each  tim e you   put  fuel   in
you r vehicle.   Remember   the   engine  must   be  off,
the  oil  must   be  warm  and   the  vehicle   must  be
parked   on  level  grou  nd .
Checking   the  engine   oil  level:

Turn  the   engine  off  after   it has   warm ed  up
and  allow   a  few  minu tes  for  the  engine   oil
to  drain   back  into  the  oil  pan.

Set  the  parking   brake,   making   sure  the
gearshift   is  secu rely  latched   in P  (Park).
Op en  the  hood .  Protect  you rself  from   engine
heat.
Locate  the  engine   oil  dipstick   (highlighted    in
yellow )  and  carefu lly  pull  it  out   of the
engine.
